$20k for charitable organisations

TWO organisations received $20,000 from the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation (Pte) Ltd (FPTCL) on Wednesday. The Salvation Army Fiji division and the Fiji Society for the Blind received $10,000 each on
behalf of the Joyce Heeraman’s Estate.

FPTCL manager estates and trust services Salaseini Drekeni said Ms Heeraman’s Estate had also made contributions to the Chanel Home of Compassion, Viti Spinal Injuries Association, Fiji Red Cross, WOWS Kids, and the Fiji Cancer Society to name a few.

Ms Heeraman was originally from Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean, she fought and lost her fight against cancer.

“Estate planning is the process of setting up a clear set of instructions about how your property and assets will be managed, both during your life (if you are unable to care for yourself at any point) and after your demise,” she said.

“It’s primarily designed to protect your family and the people you care about, as well as charities and social causes you support.”
